causes of b12 deficiencyThe food. Ah! Now here’s the hardest part. Self-control. Portion control. It’s all about control! But when you’re having dinner with your family and they’re helping themselves to those crispy fried chicken, T-bone steak, potato salad and cheesecake to finish off the meal while you’re just supposed to eat a cup or less of mixed veggies, grilled fish and a medium banana …that is so unfair. So I postpone my diet. I kept postponing it until I forget that there’s a “diet” that I have to go back to. That is my version of my yoyo diet story.

First, I have my walking buddies at home. Second, I exercise for cellulite. Third, I was out with my friends and I just turned down a big meal laden with those incredulously tasty fats and opted instead for the salmon salad.

Along with choosing to eat healthy, I’ve become mindful of the vitamins that I take too. All the essentials should be there. Vitamins ADEK or the fat-soluble vitamins play an important role in Protein Energy Malnutrition (PEM). They help repair body cells and are vital for the proper functioning of our organs.

Equally important are B vitamins especially B12 which helps in the production of the red blood cells in the body. The Causes of B12 Deficiency are primarily rooted from the inability of the body absorb this vitamin. Hence, older people usually fall prey to this because of their change of diet. B12 is essential in the body because it prevents heart diseases. Coming from a family burdened with heart ailments, believe me, B12 ranks on the top of my list as the vitamin that I should take daily.
